Optima Self Store Proud to Support Sport in Peterborough

At Optima Self Store, being part of the local community means more to us than simply providing storage space. As a business serving households and companies across Peterborough, we believe in supporting the clubs and organisations that bring people together and create opportunities for people of all ages to get involved in sport.

That’s why we’re delighted to be supporting three local sporting organisations in Peterborough: City of Peterborough Hockey Club, Peterborough Phantoms and Peterborough Lions FC.

From helping to fund improvements to local sporting facilities to providing equipment for young grassroots footballers, each sponsorship gives us an opportunity to contribute directly to sport in the city.

Supporting City of Peterborough Hockey Club

Optima Self Store has become a player sponsor at City of Peterborough Hockey Club, supporting players from the club’s first-team setup.

The club has both a strong men’s and women’s section, with eight men’s teams, five women’s teams and a thriving junior and mini-hockey programme. Its Men’s 1st XI competes in the England Hockey National League Midlands Conference, while the Women’s 1st XI competes in the East League.

Our sponsorship will also have an impact beyond the players themselves.

We have funded two player sponsorships, with the full sponsorship contribution going towards the club’s pitch fund. This helps support the facilities used by players throughout the club and contributes towards its long-term future.

For us, this was a particularly worthwhile way of supporting a well-established Peterborough sports club because the contribution is being reinvested directly into facilities for the local sporting community.

Backing the Peterborough Phantoms

We’re also proud to be supporting the Peterborough Phantoms ice hockey team.

The Phantoms are one of Peterborough’s established sporting teams, playing their home matches at Planet Ice Peterborough and attracting supporters from across the city and surrounding areas.

Supporting the Phantoms gives Optima another opportunity to back a Peterborough organisation with strong links to the area and a passionate local following.

Ice hockey may be very different from what we do day-to-day at Optima, but the principle behind the sponsorship is the same: supporting organisations that contribute to Peterborough and give local people something to get behind.

Helping Peterborough Lions FC’s Young Players

Our support for Peterborough Lions FC is focused particularly on grassroots football.

Optima has funded new training equipment for the club’s Under-14 players, including ten footballs and a first-aid bag.

Grassroots clubs depend heavily on the work of coaches, volunteers, parents, sponsors and local businesses to provide young players with the equipment and opportunities they need to enjoy their football.

Rather than simply placing our name alongside the club, we wanted our sponsorship to provide something practical that the players could use during training.

We’re pleased to see Optima Self Store now included among Peterborough Lions FC’s official sponsors and even more pleased that our contribution is helping equip the next generation of local players.

Investing in the Peterborough Community

These sponsorships form part of our wider commitment to the communities surrounding our storage facilities.

Our Peterborough self storage facility serves homeowners, renters, students and businesses from across Peterborough and the surrounding area, so supporting organisations within the same community is something we feel strongly about.

Whether it is helping a hockey club invest in its playing facilities, supporting one of the city’s ice hockey teams or providing equipment for young grassroots footballers, we want our involvement to make a genuine contribution.

We’re proud to support City of Peterborough Hockey Club, Peterborough Phantoms and Peterborough Lions FC, and we look forward to following all three clubs throughout the season.
